Recreation Oil Painting, Monet and Her Son

Recreational oil painting of “Woman with a Parasol - Monet and Her Son”. On flat 18 x 24 canvas, gridded 2 inch squares vertically and horizontally, as for the paper it was 1 inch. The process of the painting lasted for a month, each session of the painting made me feel and realize how it would feel to paint this way. I felt as if each small brushstroke wasn’t enough I wanted to put down more, of course Monet definitely had way more strokes of paint on his. While his level was beyond mine I had a great experience understanding this sort of technique and style. It’s like thinking of the layers of each set of paints going on top of each other has this 3D life like visual to it. They’re were also a lot of whisp’s of paint strokes that were showing in the sky, it was like he swirled the paint brush around the canvas with white on blue.
